  • FORGET REDNECKS; THIS IS WHAT JEFF FOXWORTHY HAD TO SAY ABOUT UTAHNS!

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September to May, you live in Utah.
If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you live in Utah.

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you live in Utah.
If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed the wrong number, you live in Utah.
If 'vacation' means going anywhere south of Salt Lake City for the weekend, you live in Utah.

If you measure distance in hours, you live in Utah.
If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you live in Utah.
If you have switched from 'heat' to 'A/C' and back again in the same day, you live in Utah.
If you install security lights on your house and garage but leave both doors unlocked, you live in Utah.
If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you live in Utah.
If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit, you live in Utah.
If the speed limit on the highway is 75 mph -- you're going 80, and everyone is still passing you, you live in Utah.
If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow, you live in Utah.
If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction, you live in Utah.
If you find 10 degrees 'a little chilly' you live in Utah.
If you actually understand these jokes and forward them to all your friends, you live in Utah.

  • Help me out here!!!!

My hands are extremely dry. They hurt so bad. I have very sensitive skin. I've tried all sorts of lotions but it makes my hands worse. I constantly have my hands in water cleaning and doing dishes. This is just insane.

Ok also, my military family is in mourning after the shooting at Ft Hood.

  • Terrible tens?

Ok so I live in a unique family situation. Upstairs in the house is my mom dad and I. Downstairs is the zoo. LOL. My sister, her husband, and their 7 kids live in the basement. Only 4 kids are here full time. The other 3 are part of a joint custody agreement. One of those 3 is Kiersten. She is turning into a real pill. She splits her week between 3 families: her mom, her dad, and her step-dad (he lives here). Here's the issue: I've been doing a lot of housework lately and decided that the kids need to help. Since there is no kitchen in the basement, dishes are brought up throughout the day. I have asked that the dishes be put in the dishwasher, not the sink. Kiersten has had the biggest problem with this. She's been talking back big time to my mom and I. Mom has discussed it with my sis and her hubby. Yet again last night, there was an issue. I'm really sick and tired of her attitude. I know she gets away with anything and everything at her mom's house. I'm not sure of the situation at her dads. I'm just at my wits end and so is my mom. Any ideas?

My best friends daughter turned 4 on the 28th. Her party was today. I don't have pics from the party because Addie couldn't wait for everyone to show up. LOL. I'm waiting for pics from Shannon. This is the one pic I do have.

Dad is staying at Peterson Marine for the time being. On Saturday, which was slated to be his last day, his boss begged him to stay and offered him full pay again. He accepted because he hasn't found another job yet. As soon as he gets a better offer, Peterson will go bye bye

The trunk or treat at the church was Friday night. It was fun, but nowhere near as cool as Christina's parties. She always rocked the Halloween party!!! Dad was working the spider (cake) walk. Mom and I visited with ward members. Andi, Kyle, and Livi came. I was excited for them to join us. I was bummed because they didn't let the kids go out to trunk or treat :( All of us that were handing out candy sat on the border of the cultural hall and the kids walked in circles. Kind of lame especially considering the fact that I had decorated the back of the van!

Halloween brought a day of deep cleaning. Mom and I cleaned the kitchen floors. I finished Addie's bday cake in the midst of handing out candy. I think it turned out well. I'll post pics after her party tonight.

About Me

  • Hey ya'll! I'm a single 30-something LDS girl just getting my life back in order. I was married to a great guy for 4 years. We split at the beginning of 2009. We're now friends but just not meant to be married. Lately, my days have been filled with helping out my family. I live at home with my parents and my sis and her family. There's 12 of us in a 6 bedroom house. Since I'm currently job hunting, I have taken over the house keeping responsibilities. I cook dinner for everyone and do laundry for my parents and I. I clean and just help out wherever possible. As for things for myself? I make jewelry and scrapbook and love to hang with my friends.
